The old town is very special part of the historical heritage of Bulgaria! It dates the time of the fall of the Ottoman empire and revival of the Bulgarian state. Walking through its authentic old streets full of different color painted Renaissance houses takes takes you far back in time when the Peninsula still had been under ottoman influence..

Old Plovdiv is a place in the center of Plovdiv,that's kept the way it was build in the 1800's.You can see the old houses and the unique architecture.Feel the atmosphere like you're back in time.There are a lot of houses,that are now museums,on every corner there's a gift shop with lots of souvenirs and antiques.

Plovdiv is a small and quite cozy bulgarian city. Quite easy to reach and suitable to walk over its small streets in the old town.
I had a better time there than in Sofia thanks to my couchsurfer, Lachko Trampov, who I still keep in touch and who I highly recommend for the next couchsurfers!

plovdiv is a nice place for a holiday including culture,it is safe to travel and walk about and it is improving a lot. I have been there seven times and you can see the improvments all the times.You can travel to other parts
of Bulgaria easelly such as to pomporovo,borovetes,etc.
