The hill of Phnom Yat overlooks the entrance to Pailin and provides an excellent view of the town and surrounding area.  The view is particularly good for sunset or sunrise.  There is a wat and an early 20th century stupa on top of the hill, as well as a wat that serves as a Buddhist education center at the base.  As Pailin is a major gem mining town,  many pray to the shrine of  Yiey Yat on the hill to grant them wishes.
