May 19, 2010 The ruins of the temples of Ankor Wat where the most impressive I've ever seen... Such a beauty! It felt like back in ancient times when you climb through the secret paths between the temples. Some of the temples where conquered by giant trees of the jungle what makes the impression even more mystical... It's a wonderful site what deserves protection. A must see for every serious traveler! Aug 22, 2010 This is one of the Worlds wonders... Dizcovered by the french only a century ago. It was only jungles here once where trees had grown wild and into the great temples, and slowly breaking down the structures. Since it discovery there has been major renovations to the tempels cutting trees and repairing the structures, but still in a fasion so you feel the magic. You can spend days exploring here and the best way is to buy youreself a 3 day or even a week ticket, it is not the cheapest but think of what the Cmabodian goverment is preserving. There are severel temples to visit and some are placed far from eachother. Best way to see the temples here and still have a relaxing trip in the heat, hire a Tuk tuk driver, they can be hired for several days, and they are on time, and mostly friendly. you will not get a price but we paid about 20 $ a day because we had a great guide aswell as driver. he drove us around the compounds and told us about it at first and then he would leave us to walk around and then when we were ready we could find him on a certain spot "Sleeping". we had 3 days here and took the smaller temples at first, then ended off with the biggest temple, Angkor Wat. Be aware that they will ask people to leave at 5.30, so if you want a sunset picture from here, maybe you can be lucky that the staff can be bribed to take you to the top of the temple, even when the top is closed for that day and when everyone else is leaving. This is a Hush hush deal, and the guards would even make sure others wont see you enter beyond the forbidden signs. Sep 3, 2010 One of the most amazing places I've ever been! Beats Macchu Picchu for me and is WAY cheaper!! Can be a bit crowded but that doesnt take away from the beauty or the experience. Not to be missed if you are in Cambodia. Take at least a couple of days to go round all the temples dont just go to angkor wat - It is impressive but its not the only impressive temple there. Its worth taking a tuk tuk and driver for a few days as the heat is pretty intense, its a LONG cycle if you decide to do it that way and there is a lot of walking and climbing when you're there. Wear good shoes - not flip flops!! Jun 4, 2011 I have done a 3 day tour arround the temples and I think this time is needed if you are interested. Some people said one day is enogh but I think you can hardly make such a small selection as there are over 300 temples.. One day we just cycled around the closer temples of Siem Reap which was really nice. I think it's very beneficial to have a guide as well as they can explain a lot about the history and the carvings in the walls which you would miss otherwise. We founda guide very helpful. It's an absolut must see I think.. Oct 26, 2010 If you plan to go to angkor wat. First, you should buy a ticket before a day you plan to go.(at ancient ticket station) because if you do that .you can use this ticket to go to angkor wat ang the morning to see a great view or take a photo.(be careful, front of angkor wat dont have a place to buy ticket) in my opinion around 04.30 you should go to this place to see a sun rise.
