Bayon temple is the part of Angkor Thom complex city (Big City) which have much more then 20 to 30 temples included. With the gaint stone faces of Bayon have become one of the most attracting, its 37 standing towers are decorrated with 4 smilling faces of Avaloketeswara, Mahayana Buddhism's compassionate budhisattva. Ankor Thom (Great Ankor / Great City) was build by the great king Jayavarman VII. It was surrounded by a wall and got five monumental gates (height 20m). The most impressive of its buildings is the Bayon temple. You find 54 towers with 216 smiling faces of Avalokiteshvara. So everywhere you look you see at least one face smiling at you. This place made a big impression on people back then and still today. Great building!

Bayon is one of the Angkor temples. It is recognizable from the huge Buddha faces on each side. Mystical place especially early morning before the tourist crowd gets there, it is recommended to start the tour there on one of the days you spend in Siem Riep. A must see!

I loved this temple, I caught it at the end of the day as the sun was setting. I took the guided tour, given another chance and more time I'd spend two weeks in Siemreap and see what I could do about renting a motorcycle. There is too much to see.

bayon is best place of cambodia for me, i feel happy during visit there to get good culture feeling , meet good people . it should n't missed to go to siemreab
