There were 102 hospitals built under Jayavarman VII, but these have disappeared, likely since they were constructed out of non-permanent materials such as wood and bamboo.  Two sandstone hospital temple/chapels ruins remain (the other is at Ta Prohm Kel).  The Chapel of the Hospital dates back to the 10th century and is in poor condition, although some carvings and a single tower remain.  Despite its location by the road, it is surrounded by dense jungle and visited by few tourists, making it a very calm and quiet location.
