Twelve nearly identical laterite towers (10 in a row and 2 arranged at right angles facing the Victory Avenue form the Prasat Suor Prat (Temple of the Tightrope Dancers).  This 12th-13th century temple is located near the Terrace of the Elephants at Angkor Thom.  Each tower may have contained a statue originally, and they are also said to have been used for settling disputes.  The two parties would be forced to sit inside two towers until one got sick and was thus declared guilty.  The veracity of this function is in doubt, but it is nonetheless an interesting one.  Artists also performed for the king on tightropes between the towers, giving it its alternate name.
