We were visiting Calgary in 1986 and decided to drive thru the Badlands to visit the newly opened Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology. It was a chance for our 7 year old son to see the unique dinosaur countryside and the actual skeletons up close. The scenery was magnificent and the Museum was very interesting. According to their website it is even better now with more experiences to offer to visitors.

The Royal Tyrrell Museum is in the heart of the badlands, 6 km (4 mi) northwest of Drumheller, Alberta, in Midland Provincial Park. Plan to spend a few hours visiting the Museum, and remember, Drumheller and surrounding area have a lot to offer - you might want to stay a while!
