Every summer Campbell River hosts a Driftwood Carving Contest in Frank James Park. It draws artists from around the world. (The artists would surprise you, as there are a fair number of loggers who have discovered that they have an artistic skill with a chainsaw). With Amateur up to Professional, the range of skill and resulting carvings are vast.
The carvings are on display around town with the majority staying in Frank James Park. Definitely a great photo op.
