Urban Park
Throughout downtown Duncan are numerous totem poles.  From May through August there are guided walking tours, but at anytime of year, it is possible to take a self-guided tour "by following the painted footprints throughout downtown to each pole," according to the downtown Duncan website.

These are modern-day totems, but made in a style like that of traditional First Nations. Since they were made by various artists, they are in different styles and themes. I especially liked the one depicting a man in a wheelchair, reminding us that people with disabilities are important members of our world.

Interesting, but Duncan as a town is less than gorgeous, better to head to Saltspring Island or Chemainus and be by the water.
