Description:
The Capilano Suspension Bridge is one of Vancouver's oldest and most popular tourist attractions.  The bridge is built with wood and reinforced steel cables anchored with 13 tonnes of concrete.  It stretches for 450 feet across and 230 feet above the Capilano River and is located in a 27 acre private park full of old-growth Douglas Fir trees.   Over 800,000 visit annually.

The park has been expanded to include a number of other exhibits, including the Treetops Adventure, which is collection of seven suspension bridges that take you through the canopy up to 100 feet above the forest floor.  You can also see some totem poles and learn more about the First Nations people and the forest through some exhibits and demonstrations.

This is an amazing get away from Vancouver, as it is a short drive and you are out of the city and in the woods. The suspension bridge is truely amazing. It has been re-done over the years (especially after a big storm when a tree falls on it). It is something I plan to go back and do again!

Très beau site en pleine nature avec tout un parcours de ponts en suspension. Pour acceder au site, il faut traverser un premier pont long de 70 mètres et suspendu à 136 mètres de haut.

Very nice bridge and park! Not to miss while visiting Vancouver. Not for people who are scared of heights!
