Named after a clerk of the Royal Navy's "Herald", the Whiffen Spit is a natural breakwater located close to downtown Sooke and near  near the Sooke harbour house.  It is a popular place for birdwatching and for scenic walks.

It was a cold and windy day, so I didn't venture too far, but I enjoyed walking along the breakwater soaking in the scenery. The Whiffen Spit is a dog friendly park so you may see others out with their dogs. A great place to relax.
