Situated at the top of Queen Elizabeth Park, the Bloedel Conservatory is a aviary and floral conservatory 140 feet in diameter and 70 feet high.  The conservatory was opened in 1969 and features a number of tropical birds, plants and fish.

One of the better value tourist sites in Vancouver. Takes about half an hour to walk around, beautiful tropical gardens and birds. From outside there is a really great view of the city.
The fastest way to get there would probably involve taking the Canada Line part of the way. translink.ca for more info. They have a student discount.

Beautiful place, but sadly had our car broken into there and my handbag was stolen along with my son's mobile phone and lots of bits and pieces

One or two days in Vancouver was for me enough, the port was Ok, good food.
