Jan 30, 2009 A nice city. Not a tourist destination but still interesting. Near the river there is a nice park for walking or jogging. The downtown area is pretty and clean. There are a couple of great bookstores in town. Westminister Books carries Canadian literature and other books about New Brunswick (such as about the Acadians) as well as best sellers. Another good bookstore is the Owl's nest and has a good selection of used books. Fredericton is also home to the University of New Brunswick and has a pretty campus. On Saturdays there is a market in the city and sellers hawk everything from bird houses to Malaysian food. Its really worth a visit. Nearby to Fredericton, there is a site called King's Landing a historical reproduction village of how life was in the area. King's Landing is a must see and I rate it 5 stars but is quite a ways outside of Fredericton. I rate Fredericton itself as 3 stars.
