Aug 22, 2008 Just have a look at the GREAT old wooden architecture, I guess it is post-victorian, I are not a archetypeal criticalist... lol. Some of these houses may well be looked upon or classified as castles. They are at least three floors, many of them, with ornate gables and painted such beautiful vibrant colours. They are just wonderful. You can begin from the main street running from the north-end to King... it may be Main St. I am not sure. I would have to look at a map and I am boycotting yahoo, google, and anyone else who pisses me off rite now. I just learned that they edit these things I do, so a lot of the blather I constructively write goes into deconstruction. That makes me sad. OH yah, so Douglas Avenue has all this wonderful wooden architecture, it has the old New Brunswick Museum building, which may or may not still be open... the bulk of the sites artifacts have been moved downtown to the Market Square location. Douglas Avenue is not even a mile long, I reckon. Where it ends, going west, is at the beginning of the Reversing Falls Bridge. Spectacular views can be appreciated there at any time of the day or night. Just hope the wind is not blowing your way, as the pulp mill is a smelly, smelly affair. Sufurous! From the grounds of the museum there is some kind of park, I believe there are war or other memorials, and you can wander down a path to a little island that gracefully pours out from the land it's green green grass to make a circle with what used to be (as least) a white painted fence. That is spectacular. Not even I have walked on to that! JB
