Anytime you are close to the St Lawrence Seaway, make time to take a cruise of the Thousand Islands. You can get them in Gananoque, Ontario or in Alexandria Bay, NY. Both sides offer a good tour, although I am naturally prejudiced in favour of the Gananoque cruise. I've taken one or another of these cruises several times, and expect to do so, again. The scenery is wonderful; the yarns told by the tour guides are amusing; and some of the island "cottages" are gorgeous. Do it!

A nice summer or fall outing, bring the spouse, but maybe not young kids. A good relaxing daytrip.
