Farmers Market The north side has a very popular farmers market on Saturdays, with veggies, fruits and anything else growing in Ontario! There is also an antiques market on Sundays. It can get crowded, and people arrive early! Payment Accepted:

Mar 9, 2009 Some very unique side of T.O. that you may have the same feeling that I do. I'm talking a little bit more about the area surrounding this market. Situated right on the corner of Lower Jarvis and Front st, where you can find all sort of entertaining spots .Varying from cinema, coffee shops, museums, via train station, TTC, bookstore, and even TD Bank Headquarters right few blocks away. The market itself has a lot of fresh food (BEST salmon I've ever purchased, fresh and reasonable price), vegetables, nuts, dates and fruits. After a long, mind-exhausting shopping battle, don't forget to check out the back of the market where you may find the exit door which leads you the balcony and watch the lake at twilight. A breathtaking moment and a little relaxing therapy to soothe your pocket after the show :) Oct 25, 2008 I love coming here in the summer fall. I agree with the previous reviewer.... this place is the place to find rare finds. It's amazing what you can find. I come here to find those obscure foods you hear about, but can't find anywhere in a grocery store. I find the prices for meat are a little on the expensive side, but you're also getting what you paid for. The meats are fresh, (not water logged, no preservatives), just honest, butchery-style meats. Fruit veg is cheap. Great place! And a great chunk of history. This place has been around for decades. Oct 17, 2008 I used to work nearby and going for lunch at the market is a real treat. Huge sandwiches, and personable market vendors serving the freshest ingredients. I try to pick up kebabs, seafood (HUGE shrimps) and steaks here whenever I can, because they're just so good - and prices are competitive. Virtually any kind of meat you can imagine - venison, ostrich, kangaroo...yum! Jul 11, 2011 I'm a chef so this is a mandatory visit. Local & fresh, and in season, this the place for some of the best ingredients in the city. It's right on the lake so if you're coming in from the North, stop by the downview market on Sunday mornings. Look for the guy selling the menningknight sausage. Oct 30, 2008 Best breakfast sandwiches EVER at the Carousel Bakery on the main floor. My dad and I go here all the time and get sandwiches to go before a movie at the Rainbow across the street. Cheapest date ever, less than $20 for lunch and movie for two. And did I mention the BEST SANDWICH EVER?
