One of my favourite zoos I've ever been to. The animals seem to have plenty of room and rarely exhibit signs of stress (i.e. pacing, lethargy) that you may see at other zoos. This also means there is a lot of walking around to visit the different 'regions' of the world, as that is how animals are segregated. If you have young children look up their camping nights, where you can actually camp at the zoo and hear lions at night and feed wolves in the morning!

Toronto has one of the best zoos in the world. It is very big and there is quite a lot to see. So if you decide to go, plan on staying a whole day there - the place is massive! The animals are divided by the continent they are from, so they are a bit easier to find. If you get tired of walking, you can purchase a ticket for a guided bus that takes you around the whole zoo.
