COWS began to make ice cream in 1983 with an old-fashioned family recipe that originated in Cavendish , Prince Edward Island . Each COWS ice cream is served in a hand made waffle cone, created one at a time, right at the counter.

In 1985, COWS introduced a fun assortment of clothing for its staff to wear. A great deal of attention was drawn to these clothing items by the ice cream customers; not only did the customers want to buy the ice cream, but they wanted to buy the staff clothing. Responding to this interest, COWS introduced a line of T-shirts and sweatshirts, which featured the colourful images of outstanding designers. The images became extremely popular and further products (caps, mugs, towels, sleepwear, etc.) were added to the COWS retail mix.

Ice cream from an old-fashioned Prince Edward Island family recipe has been combined with a wide assortment of clothing and fun products to become the COWS store of today.

There are many COWS locations across PEI, with shops also in Nova Scotia, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.

COWS ice cream isn't the cheapest, but the flavours are delicious and it is locally made in PEI. It's popular with tourists and locals alike, and typically you'll face a long line-up. I love the Moo York Cheesecake and Wowie Cowie....yum! And the shirts are always good for a laugh, like "Sidney Cowsby" and "Dairy Potter".

Visiting PEI when i was younger i loved the beach (watch out for Jellyfish) and this one particular ice cream place, Cows. It's an old-fashioned place that originated in Cavendish, Prince Edward Island. So yummy. Great T-shirts too!

This is the BEST ice cream on the Planet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trust Me... My friends told me to try it and I can't stop going to get some!!!!

Quite overpriced, supported by tourists rather than locals(except in the form of several million in tax dollars!), and no better than the real local brands.
