I was skeptical when my Aunt suggested we go to the Biodome. I was 19 and assumed it would be like a zoo, geared towards little kids. I'm happy to say that I was wrong! The Biodome is an incredible place and a great way to understand the different ecosystems of the Americas. Most people will never get to experience these ecosystems firsthand, so this is a perfect way to see animals and plants in their native environments. Temperatures range from hot and humid tropical rainforests to the chill of the penguins' natural habitat...and by far the penguins were my favorite part of the visit! Definitely a must-see! :)

You can walk through the different eco systems and see the animals walking around like you are actually there. Much different than going to see animals at the zoo. I wish we were able to walk around with the penguins, but they were unfortunately behind the glass. I did get dive bombed by a couple of tropical birds. They will walk right up to you also. You have to stop by here if you are in Montreal, and do the botanical gardens in the same day.

I love animals and plants and all, but didn't think I would be that excited about going to the Biodome. But a friend was in town, and as host I thought I ought to go. Well I ended up being pleasantly surprised. The Biodome was bigger than I thought and had all sorts of crazy animals I'd never seen before. The penguin exhibit was cute too. Worth visiting. :)

I finally came here after living in Montreal for 3 years. It saw lots of interesting animals that I had never seen before, as well as lots of impressive plants. The complex was much larger than I had expected and it took us some time to get through. They have everything from macaws to tropical fish and penguins.

If you are in Montreal you have to go here. Stepping into the each ecosystem it's hard to believe that you're really still indoors. The rainforest and river birds sections are particularly spectacular!
