Add a description to help fellow travelers! ![]() Added Mar 12, 2009 Went there for two weeks and it was too little. Next time I'd love to spend three or four weeks there. The capeverdean "No Stress" athmosphere is unbelievable and you just want to stay there for the rest of your life. Ok, there isn't enough fresh water and nature is really dry and people are pretty poor, but it didn't matter. Beaches are amazing and so are the people. They are very friendly, although some men are very agressive with their selling, but they are from Senegal. Went there in the end of October and the season was just starting so not that much tourists. The great thing about the country is that it's new for tourists and hotels are just being build. Our hotel was Hotel Santa Maria, a small hotel without a pool but was nice. I recommend a trim around the island, seeing Palmeira, Espargos and the salt pools in Pedra de Lume. Get to know the locals and spend time with them. We did and got lots of friends. Did surfing too and really recommend it! The country is really expensive for tourist but people make it nice. ![]() Added Jun 24, 2009 Beautiful beach...perfect! I agree with Erja that 2 weeks is not enough. I have just returned from another 3 weeks and that still wasn't enough! The perfect chill destination. Be sure to check out the Snack Shack. Great atmosphere and carrot cake to die for! ![]() Added Jul 23, 2009 I went to Santa Maria (in the Ilha do Sal, capo Verde) in 1992. The place is awesome. You can go scuba diving, you can visit the salt mines in an abandoned Volcano, you can go fishing. I had some of the best food of my life Added Sep 22, 2009 Very nice Place, good beach for Kitesurf ;) ![]() Added Feb 2, 2009 posto spetacolare.... |
