Rano Kau is one of the two main crater attractions on Easter Island / Isla Pascua. With Orongo village on it's far edge along the Pacific Ocean, this is one of the most scenic spots on the entire island. The crater is a protected area and home to many fragile, endemic plant species.

Rano Kau will take your breath away. This crater high up on a ridge at the far south west tip of the island offers huge panoramic views. Photos don't do it justice, as this crater is huge. With the Pacific in the background, this is a great spot for a picnic or just enjoying the natural beauty of the island.

Rano Kau opens up in its splendore while the Pacific Ocean is itself so close.Huge crater containing pottable water.Not too many other sources of drinking water on the island.Take a guided tour by a local guide who wil be able to make you feel the greatness of the whole island
