This village, crossed by a river, is an authentic Ming village with typical brick houses with clay tiles roof, narrow paved paths, and bridges made of slabs of stone. A walk trough the village allows to discover this rural life and its craftmanship: chinese painting brushes, baskets, wood objects. A variety of traditional objects can be found in the many small antique shops. It looks like the local pharmacy-apothicary has not changed for ages.

A must see place! Stay at Maison du Maître des Thés, in Chawu and explore both this magnificient village and its surrounding mountains with terrassed rice fields and bamboo forests. Two pagodas protect the village.
