This magical mountain is well worth a visit. The paths are well trodden by Buddhist hermits of old and their calligraphy remains embedded in the rock faces. The mountain is covered in pristine forest and there are places to stay and eat along the way. Wild Huang shan mushrooms are a delicasy that will keep you enjoying your hike. The view from the top is just like a classic Chinese painting. Ahhhh.

Don't take the cable car! Hike this stunning trail and stay overnight at the top. Be sure to set you alarm for sunrise as it is UNBELIEVABLE! You stand above the clouds and watch the sun come up, then walk down cobblestone paths through the mist. Breathtaking indeed.
