With China's entry into the WTO and its role as host to the Olympics of 2008, a new terminal was added to the Beijing international airport. This terminal was completed in February 2008, and lays claim to being the largest terminal building in the world. The roof area measures over 80 acres - bigger than all five of London Heathrow's terminals. In fact if this terminal was a stand alone structure, it'd be considered the largest airport in the world.

Given its sheer size, its impressive that it was the fastest airport terminal every built to date.

The interior of the building is designed to reflect Beijing and Chinese identity. A Feng Shui expert was consulted on the design and flow of the building.

This airport is absolutely enormous! And they're very efficient with lines, baggage, and everything so you don't really have to wait in line long. It makes for a much better airport experience. Don't forget that this airport is designed to resemble a dragon, so look for that when you're flying in!
