I just returned from Beijing, and we stopped at Dr. Tea for a tasting.  The shop is the last one in a row of other tea shops, and well worth the time to visit.  We tasted 5 different teas, learned how to prepare them, then had an opportunity to make some purchases.  There was no high pressure, and you can bargain a little on the price with the person that serves you before you walk into the showroom.  My husband is in love with the Puer Green Tea.  They each have different health benefits as well!

Tea is considered as the Chinese national drink. Dr. Tea is a teahouse where a hostess prepares different kinds of teas and describes the benefits of each one; it lowers blood pressure and cholesterol… You’ll taste White Tea, Green Tea, Jasmine Tea, Litchi Tea… Personally, I like the Jasmine Tea; its smell and taste are weird and tasty. Chinese tea is used as medicine and it’s pretty expensive. But after tasting it you don’t mind paying the high price for the good quality that you get. A small decorated box of Chinese Tea is a very nice souvenir, but unfortunately my friends don’t appreciate its value because tea is very cheap in my country.

Hi everyone, I went on a tour to the Chinese wall today, and on the way back, they stopped us at Dr. Tea. I bought dozens of tea boxes for my family and friends. Then, was just googling Dr. Tea, and some say it is a poor quality tea...I m very disappointed I spent 300d in the shop, thinking I m buying great quality tea :(...Has anyone tried the package he got? someone experience with tea that could the difference between good and bad tea?

I am from The Bahamas and did a 1 day tour that included Dr. Teas. I must say that this stop was very informitive which I enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. On my return I will make it a point to shop again at Dr. Teas.
