Designed by French architect Paul Andreu, the National Centre of Performing Arts is an opera house and theatre designed in a giant egg elliposide structure (hence its nickname "The Egg."

The dome is made of a combination of titanium and glass, and is surrounded by a giant shallow lake.  To keep the design aesthetics clean, visitors enter into the theatre via an underground glass ceiling hallway that goes directly under the lake.

The theatre features 3 performance halls:

  • Opera Hall for operats, ballets and dances
  • Music Hall
