Actually called Silk Street,  it's an enclosed shopping area setup like a bazaar.

Extensive, and very entertaining.....but be prepared to negotiate...HARD!

Didn't see a single 'genuine' item there, but everything seems to be of reasonable quality....just with fake designer labels (Armani jeans for $8).   Trouble is, they start off asking $40!  When you start to walk away after talking with them, is when the prices start to drop.

Definitely the best place to shop for souvenirs and a chance to make your bargaining skills come to perfection!! You will be shocked by the sellers' knowledge of foreign languages, especially if you are Croatian. Firstly they will misjudge you for being a Russian, then they will ask you to "pasmatri"(which in russian means "have a look", but in Croatian, contrary to the sellers' knowledge, "pasmatri" is very close to a vulgar swearing). We had so many sellers telling us "pasmatri, pasmatri",that we thought these Chinese people....they are very polite, indeed :))))

The perfect place to find whatever you need (and a lot more things you don't really need!). We had a great time, and picked up some fun keepsakes, and some "designer" sunglasses and "silk" bed spreads. Definitely be prepared to bargain hard. I usually started at 5-10% of the price they gave and never ended up paying more than 15-20% of what they had originally asked for, at the most.

This place is the biggest tourist trap. It's crowded, and the vendors rip you off (well they pay enough for a spot along this road that they kinda have a right to). For a much better place to shop, head over to XiDan or to the warehouse/bus station across the street from the zoo. There, you'll actually find some good deals.

You can find lot's of fake branded items here, from watches to the latest version of hand bags, all at the same shopping complex. You have to bargain before buying things because the sellers used to come out with un-acceptable prices compared to the quality. Better if you can speak their language (Chinese).

In Silk Road Shopping Center you can buy all the international counterfeited goods. You won't believe your eyes. they look quite genuine and at very reasonable prices. You should be good in haggling.
