Few places in the world have these limestone karst formations. Visited the WWII airbase that father in law flew P-40s out of against the Japanese. Only six people had been there before us. Base is now a driver training proving ground. I could recognize the airfield as we drove it in a cab, comparing it to the aerial recon photos from Papa's book.

We has a day with mist and soft rain then sunshine. The perfect weather for the ride down the river. The beauty and mystery of the scenes along the river were most memerable.
