About Yulong River Valley
The Yulong river-valley features beautiful Karst formations popping almost straight up out of lush terraced farmlands. It is a great place to hike around or go bicycling, and it is also possible to take a bamboo raft down the Yulong river (2 passengers per raft). Moon Hill, Assembling Dragon Cave, the Banyan Tree and more are all found either in or the valley or close nearby.
This river extends up north-northwest from Yangshuo. You can rent bicycles and ride 15-20 minutes out from town to get there.

Definitely the most beautiful area I've seen around Yangshuo for beautiful Karst landscapes. I strongly recommend hiking through the surrounding farmlands - just walk along the raised strips of earth dividing field sections. The area just north-east of the Gong bridge (that's on the way to Moon Hill from Yangshuo) is particularly nice. It's really worth staying at a place out in the country side (Mountain Retreat Resort or the Giggling Tree) where you can just wake up and start hiking.
