Relic
Built in the year of Jingyou (1034 AD) during the Song Dynasty in complement to the Jiangnan Examination School, the temple is used to provide offerings and sacrifices to Confucius, and for scholars to come and pray for success, and to demonstrate their respect.

The temple was destroyed and rebuilt several times, the most recent reconstruction coming after World War II.  It is now part of a major complex, although it has retained the name Confucius Temple.

The most outstanding features of the temple are a beautiful collection of 38 jade panels, a bronze statue of Confucius, and white marble statues of his eight disciples.
