Oct 22, 2008 Suzhou is the "Venice" of China with all its canals. But the highlight of this city is its many gardens - which are World Heritage Sites. It can be difficult to get around due to single lane traffic and many small roads leading to various gardens. There are many gardens and it gets expensive if you try to see too many. I highly recommend Garden of the Master of the Nets, being the smallest of the gardens, but the most well used in terms of space. This space it made to feel larger due to its layout. Garden for Lingering In is also very nice, and maybe the second best garden in the city. These two gardens are far apart from each other. It is a very long walk between the two, and buses/taxis take a long time to navigate the roads. If you can somehow rent a bicycle, it is the best way to ger around due to traffic congestion. The North Temple Pagoda is simple, but contain a nice small garden and is the tallest pagoda south of the Yangzi. Oct 13, 2008 Suzhou is famous for its Beautiful traditionnal Chinese Gardens. It is also full of little old style chinese style houses along the various little rivers crossing the city, like a little Venice. DOn't miss a stop in Suzhou if you are travelling around. Jan 10, 2009 Chinese gardens are full of poetry and melancholy. It's such a beautiful and romantic place to see with your lover.
