A monk called Hanshan was in charge of this temple in the Tang Dynasty, so it was called after him.The temple is a shrine; every New Year's Eve, thousands of visitors from China and Japan come to this temple to ring the big bell and pray for luck and happiness in the new year. They also buy candles and lit them as offerings.

It was built in the Xia Liang Tianjon of the south Dynasty (AD 502-519). This Buddhist temple is visited by Asian pilgrims, especially the Japanese, on New Year Eve.
Inside there's an enormous bell that visitors hit it to drive away wicked souls.

Make your wish, it will become true. Remember to return when it really become true. But don't ask too many wishes. Once a dream.
