Jan 11, 2009 A monk called Hanshan was in charge of this temple in the Tang Dynasty, so it was called after him.The temple is a shrine; every New Year's Eve, thousands of visitors from China and Japan come to this temple to ring the big bell and pray for luck and happiness in the new year. They also buy candles and lit them as offerings.
