THE place to go to Xi'an for. Located about half an hour from the city and allow yourself at least a couple of hours to see all of it. Also, like most places in China, be prepared to face large crowds of people. For obvious reasons, you can not get too close to the warriors, but what you do see is amazing. If you are interested in that sort of thing, you can meet the surviving villager, who discovered the site while digging a well and get his autograph at the museum gift shop

The Terracotta Warriors are a must-see in Xi'an and of course, that is the main reason most tourists go there! They have been called the 8th wonder of the world and it's easy to see why. The emperor wanted to take his army to the afterlife so had a life-size army created from terracotta including horses as well as soldiers. The figures are life-like and the number of them that were buried there is astounding!
