Dec 30, 2008 Nanjing Road is much more than the (for Chinese Standards) small "Shopping Street" part. It is one of the biggest roads in Shanghai and walking from one part of it to the other, (around 2 or 3 hours give or take) will make you pass from neon lights to dodgy neighbourhoods to parks and skyscrapers.... really worth it. Apr 4, 2011 China's premier shopping street, 3.4-mile-long Nanjing Road, starts at the Bund in the east and ends in the west at the junction of Jing'an Temple and Yan'an West Street. Today Nanjing Road is a must-see metropolitan destination attracting thousands of fashion-seeking shoppers from all over the world. Oct 31, 2008 It starts off the Bund, the first half is a pedestrianized shopping street, then it goes off as a car highway that crosses lots of differenet neighbourghoods. You can see both skyscrapers and poor rundown houses along it. Tip: Be careful on its first half, lots of scammers out for tourists! Dec 26, 2008 This flashy outdoor shopping area is a great place to walk around, shop and people watch. You can find just about anything here! Be careful in the rain, though, as the tiles on the road get very slippery! Oct 31, 2008 You can find almost everything here (including cinemas), but be aware of the scummers and pickpockets!
