This massive cathedral can accommodate up to 2,500 worshipers and is a striking find among modern Shanghai. Though it was vandalized, rebuilt, and re-designed within the past forty years, the church remains an interesting relic to Shanghai's colonial past.

This is a must-see attraction for anyone intending to stay in Shanghai for more than a week. While Shanghai offers hundreds of options for live entertainment, nightlife attractions, parks and gardens, Xujiahui is not only a reminder of colonial Shanghai, but that of religion's place in modern China.
