Take Pan Am Highway One north from Liberia, right turn towards Canas Dulces, then put it in overdrive and power another 2-3 miles til you get to the Springs.

This place has become more popular over the years, but is still a great place. Hotels in Guanacaste offer overpriced packages there, but if you go early in the morning in your own car you can have the place to yourself. take the tractor ride down unless you want an hour horse ride that costs extra. The mad baths used to be free, but I think they've made it into a "spa" option. But the hot springs are beautiful and the trees that surround it are wonderful.
