Climbing the walls of the old city is just short of breath-taking. Take your energy drink with you, it's over 1.5km's right the way around. And if you are lucky (unlucky) enough to visit on a steamy hot day in the 30's (celcius) you will need water and be diving for shade. The view is spectacular. The water nothing short of amazing - no wave action, hardly any wind, sheet glass that you can't wait to dive into. If you have the guts to jump, your a braver man than I am. The locals won't let you get away without telling you tales of diving competitions in years gone by. Better to buy food outside the old city where it is beter value. Although on the wall, there are a couple of options whrere cool drinks are a must to combat the heat.

The Old Town in Dubrovnik is sure worth seeing, the architecture is quite unforgettible. Best to visit also the defensive stone walls surrounding the Old Town, and walk through them - quite tirying in such high temperatures but the bird's eye view is great.

Not during the high season! Dubrovnik is so wonderful in the fall or early spring. If you can, go there at the beginning of February, the 3rd of February is the most important holiday for people of Dubrovnik, the day of st. Blasius (Festa sv. Vlaha). I've been to Dubrovnik more than 10 times, in different season but Festa is the most wonderful memory I have!

Dubrovnik! What a charged name: No cars, narrow streets, thick old citywalls, cosy outdoor restaurants.....like moving to the middle ages......WOW! And not to forget: The memory and the traces of the last war still in the minds of the people and seen in the buildings....

Walls of Dubrovnik run 2 km around the city, from four to six metres and are very amasing
The city of Dubrovnik joined the the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
