Getting there:
Take the highway between Limassol and Pafos. Before you leave Limassol, on the last round-about crossing of the Limassol by-pass (north-west of the town), take the exit to the port and then follow the directions to "Ladie's mile" (a famous beach). On your way there, you will find directions to Saint Nicholas of the Cats.

A small monastery on the southernmost tip (the "foot" as it's locally called) of Cyprus, on the peninsula to the south of Limassol (Lemessos). This is the place where, according to legend, Saint Helen landed on Cyprus. Cyprus was at the time tested by a severe drought and was infested with snakes. Saint Helen came to Cyprus with a ship full of cats and landed here, where the Agios Nicolaos monastery now exists. If you love cats, this is the place to be! The nuns take care of litterally HUNDREDS of cats of all colours and sizes. They live in and around the monastery and I think it's worth a visit or two!
