Dec 25, 2008 Kronborg is known as "Elsinore," the setting for much of William Shakespeare's famous tragedy Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. The castle has for centuries been one of the most important Renaissance castles in Northern Europe and was added to UNESCO's World Heritage Sites list. From ferry there is beautiful view on two -Helsingor (Denmark) and Helsingborg (Sweden) - castles at the same time. Nov 21, 2009 Kronborg is situated near the town of Helsingør (immortalised as Elsinore in Shakespeare's Hamlet) on the extreme northeastern tip of Zealand at the narrowest point of the Øresund, the sound between Denmark and Sweden. In this part, the sound is only 4 km wide, hence the strategic importance of maintaining a fortress at this location commanding one of the few outlets of the Baltic Sea. Feb 27, 2010 Beautiful old renaissance castle, a World Heritage sight, definitely worth to visit. There is a kid's area with lots of Lego and other toys, paperboard tunnels so the little ones can have some fun! Actually the parents are also always involved in building Lego toys.... Jan 13, 2009 Lovely castle. There is a lake surrounding the castle and I was trying to feed the ducks but the fishes stole the bread :) fierce fish. and then these huge rats wanted bread. everyone got a piece except the poor ducks :P
