Feb 4, 2009 Moucha was one of my favourite places to visit while growing up. I almost feel guilty telling you the well-kept secret of this small remote island, a short boat ride off the coast of Djibouti. The island has 2 different personalities: the blazing white beaches, with trees from which to hang your hammocks or under which to lay your towel, and then then there's the huge tangled roots and trees that shade the center of the island and create a tunnel where a river runs through it. It's a great place to take a large group of people for a day of relaxation and exploration. You'll rarely run into anyone else. Once you've had your share of sunshine and reading, take the kids through the shallow river tunnel across the island until it opens up on the other side. It's both fascinating and beautiful. There are different paths to take, but you can't get lost. And while you're at it, take a mud bath in the soft grey sand you feel your toes curl into along the way! I was always told it'll make your skin softer. Enjoy. Related Links
