All places related to Columbus (also the Mausoleum), the monument in Santo Domingo is an exact copy of the one in Barcelona. One is pointing to the east ond the other to the west, and if You connect their pointing fingers You get a perfectly straight line.

Lots of history relative to the "founding" of Hispaniola by Columbus. It is a busy square and great for photography right off of the Conde.

impressing though not necessarily accurate, uncertain if they have the real body of columbus, his brother or whoever

For a cultural and diferent day is really nice go and see the old city... and lots of history to hear
