Pinnacle Rock juts out of the coast of Bartolome Island, and is one of the most photographed settings in the Galapagos. Some of the best views of Pinnacle Rock and the entire Archipelago are offered by climbing to the top of Bartolome Island.

I found Pinnacle Rock an odd attraction. It does make for nice photos, especially if the sun is low on the horizon. The hike to the summit of Bartolome island is worth it for the views of not just Pinnacle Rock, but the surrounding islands. What I found most appealing with Pinnacle Rock was going out snorkelling to it from the beach. This spot provided the most colourful show of fish I saw anywhere in the Galapagos as well as some white tipped sharks. Penguins and sea lions often hang out by Pinnacle Rock as well.

The scenery icon of the Galapagos. Very nice view to the rock you have from climbing up the hill. A must for taking THE Galapagos photo. Besides the view point you will find more animals on the other islands like Isla Espanola.
