Punta Suárez

Punta Suarez is either a 'wet' or 'dry' landing, depending on conditions at this stop on Española Island / Hood Island. There is a nice lighthouse and most likely the dominate male sea lion will be on patrol, taking care of his harem.

There is a hiking trail here to explore the rest of the island and it's wildlife.

Wow! So much to see here. Very bright coloured marine iguanas (red and pink), plus friendly, inquisitive sea lions (except the beach master, stay clear of the dominate male as he can be aggressive!) Blue footed booby birds seem to be everywhere too, and you'll also spot lava lizards and some more rare species such as the Española Mockingbird, Galapagos Hawk or if the season is right - even Waved Albatross. Most wildlife here is unique to this island as it is the oldest one in the archipelago. It takes time to get here, but worth the sail!
