A Galapagos Park Guide is required to visit Las Tintoreras, which is accesible by a short boat ride from the pier at Puerto Villamil. This sensitive area has a nice walking trail taht is often covered by marine iguanas as this is a mating area for them. The highlight here is heading into a small swimming lagoon that attracts white tipped sharks who sleep here in the calm waters.

Fun spot. I was lucky to have a little underwater camera and was surprised that you do, indeed, snorkel with sharks here. They are sleeping or resting in this area and you get up close and personal with them. Inquisitive sea lions splash around and check you out too. Super cool thing to do in the Galapagos.
