Prison
Wall
The Wall of Tears was constructed by prisoners on Isabela island in the late 40's and 50's under very harsh conditions. Eventually a prison uprising and escape led to the end of the wall construction and the use of Isabela Island as a penal colony.

Take a taxi ride or do a hike (about 7km) from town to get to the Wall of Tears. This interesting feature is made of huge lava rocks hand placed by prisoners half a century ago. Many prisoners died and couldn't handle the extreme harsh conditions they faced here, which is why it is said the wall was made of their tears.
