I did it just to say to have been on the equator, the 0°00' meridian. Besides the viewpoint and some handicraft shops there is not much else. You need to pay entry for the park but wherever you wanna go like the viewpoint or the museum you have to pay again. The volcano crater Pululahua near by is more interesting.

Right smack in the middle! There's a cool monument with a great ethnographic museum inside. The perfect place to learn a bit more about Ecuador, its history, and cultures. Lot's of delicious traditional eats nearby. It's good for a lazy day trip.

Where else, but with both hemispheres under your feet, can you so easily check if the myth about which way the water in the toilets runs is true ;-)

Go to the small museum next to the big attraction parc. It's the real mitad del mundo and had a nice museum.

Great place for a day trip from Quito. Visit some of the other museums aside from Mitad del Mundo though.
