Citystars, an awesome mall with a very nice multiplex boasting many restaurants and an awesome Duty free. You are allowed to buy stuff from the Duty free only till 48hours after you land---so be smart and buy anything on the 1st day itself. Also, other nearby places include-->Khan-el-khalili and the Cairo Tower, Nile cruise is a must do

pollution and noice can get to you, and the hords of people trying to sell you items - but the history makes all that worth while

Helioupolis is in Cairo. A beautiful and calm place with many hotels, gardens and flowers.

I've been to Cairo many times, the smog is a bit think pretty much everywhere.
