Library The Bibliotheca Alexandrina was opened in 2002 and has shelf space for 8 million books (although the number of books actually in the library is only a fraction of this). It has capacity for 3,000 readers housed in a striking glass and granite building (with a sundial shaped roof), and there are also museums and a planetarium on the grounds. Note: Admission details only refer to the library. Payment Accepted:

Dec 4, 2008 Too modern ! based on the latest techlonogy ! near the entrance there is a place where you can look down and find one of the letters in your mother language alphabet ! The majority of books is Koran in different versions, like, read the Koran on a touch screen and go through its pages by touch-the best I liked Jul 13, 2008 It's a beautiful place to walk around and see all of the art that surrounds the buildings. The only thing that turns me off is the fact that you need to pay to enter the library itself. Overall the view from the area is fantastic and is gorgeous at night. Oct 18, 2009 The modern library was beautiful, so much space for books and they have great displays of artwork and exhibitions. Its great for a chill out, esp if you are templed out after spending a month in Egypt!
