The Valley of the Queens is the counterpart to the Valley of the Kings.  Known before as Ta-Set-Neferu, which means "the place of the Children of the Pharaoh", many queens, princes, and princesses were burried in this valley.  The tombs were maintianed by mortuary priests who offered prayers and performed daily rituals.  Over seventy tombs are found in the region, including the resting place for Queen Nefertari.

This valley is located on the west bank of the Niles across from Thebes.
