The town of Asyut in Egypt is a lovely lovely town WITHOUT tourists. and without the locals being ruined by tourists. you can go there without being pulled to buy. you are just there, people just look at you, without asking 500% of the prices. a lovely authentic egyptian town. Rien a voir with Cairo, Aswan and Luxor with the touristy-wannabe-glam.
